Agatha Christie: An Acrostic Poem
Agatha Christie was one of four Queens of Crime-
Golden Age of Mystery Authors, every one of them:
Allingham, Christie, Marsh and Sayers wrote for decades.
The Mysterious Affair At Styles was Christie’s first book-
Hercule Poirot was introduced as a Belgian refugee from WWI;
Agatha’s first detective relied upon his ‘little gray cells.”.
Christie had a second main detective, unlike most other authors;
Her spinster Miss Jane Marple lived in St. Mary Mead.
Readers met her in Murder At The Vicarage.
Inspector Slack considered her the bane of his life;
She was the one who solved the crimes, not him.
Tommy and Tuppence Bretherford were Christie’s spy couple.
Investigator Parker Pyne, Mrs. Oliver, Sup. Battle and Mr. Quinn
Existed too in Christie’s fictional world of Murder Most Foul.
